The Aviation Cocktail # 1

One of last great cocktails invented before prohibition was the Aviation cocktail. It’s mentioned in several bartenders book such as the Savoy Cocktail book 1930, Recipes for Mixed Drinks and one 1911 News paper called the New York Knickerbocker press.

The drink fell into obscurity because the Crème de Violette stopped being produced but since it’s comeback thanks to Rothman and Winter, our palates can jump for joy. Crème de Violette is made from Violette’s growing in the Alps and adds such wonderful flavor to this tasty cocktail along with Aviation Gin.
