This depression era libation which after having a few of them, makes us all feel like a million bucks! This drink is from the 1937 cocktail book “The How and When”, this was originally called the Millionaire #4 – the Millionaire #1 being listed in the “Savoy Cocktail Book” from 1930. This recipe is actually a slight variation by Ted Haigh which is much better – the original is a bit too heavy on the sweet side.
1 ½ ounces Myer’s Original Dark Rum
¾ ounce sloe gin
¾ ounce apricot brandy
1 ounce fresh squeezed lime juice
Lime wedge, for garnish
Shake all ingredients hard with ice and strain into a chilled 4 – 5 oz. cocktail glass. Garnish with lime wedge.
