Tipperary Cocktail

A recipe taken from the 1930 book, “Cocktails By Jimmy Late Of Ciro’s”. Named for the town in Ireland mentioned in the World War I-era song “It’s a Long Way to Tipperary” written by Harry Williams and Jack Judge whose grandparents came from Tipperary. Tipperary Cocktail

Tipperary Cocktail

2 oz gin
1 oz sweet vermouth
½ oz fresh squeezed orange juice
½ oz grenadine
2 sprigs fresh mint

Place all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice, shake vigorously for 20 – 30 seconds and strain into chilled 4 – 5 oz glasses. Add mint sprigs for garnish.
